This summer, Front Porch is all about returning home, and we're coming back together to connect with creative thinkers and artists in the Upstate. Homegrown Artistry is an event designed to foster collaborative relationships and provide a framework for storytellers, entrepreneurs and artists looking to draw inspiration from their own neighbors. This workshop will cover multiple ways to begin considering stories, people, and societal structures in a community and translating those considerations into artistic and collaborative projects.
Participants will leave the workshop with practical methods of working, articulated core values in relation to their work in communities, and experience making collaborative, multidisciplinary work with other artists. Whether your work has always been rooted in community or you're only beginning to consider the role of your neighbors in your inspiration, this workshop will be designed with you in mind.
All artistic mediums and backgrounds are welcome. Front Porch will provide lunch, snacks, and supplies with a $20 workshop fee. Please fill out the online application to sign up and receive more details.
